Iquitos, Peru (March 2025)

Description

This weeklong outreach trip will be to Iquitos, Peru and the nearby Amazon Region seeing both local & indigenous peoples for medical care and services. After three days serving in the city of Iquitos, the group will travel on the Amazon River to provide care to local tribes and villages for two additional days. This trip is associated with West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Please contact Dr. Jodi Flanders (Jodi.Flanders@docareintl.org) for more details or questions. Cost: $206 nonrefundable deposit plus: $2,356 per person (double occupancy)$2,856 per person (single occupancy)


Cost of Trip Includes

  1. 7 nights of accommodations
  2. 3-star & 4-star hotels with private bathrooms & air conditioning
  3. Most meals daily (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) from 3/23-3/29/2025
  4. Domestic transportation
  5. Flights from Lima to Iquitos & from Iquitos to Lima
  6. Buses & boat transportation
  7. English-speaking guides for group excursions

  1. International airfare (i.e., United States to Lima & Lima to United States)
  2. Airport & international taxation
  3. Personal expenses (i.e., shopping, gifts, self-chosen excursions or extensions to travel before or after trip timeframe)
  4. Gratuities for transfers, Guides, servers, meals, etc. on travel days
  5. Food on travel days
